Do you now how night vision goggles work at night? Today I will explain how night vision works at night based on the working principle of MH-NVGs.
MH-NVGs is a kind of night vision goggles which can be viewed two eyes and can be mount with helmet , small in size , light in weight. Magnification can be changed by replacing different objective lens, 1x and 3x and 5x are available. Other objective lens with different focal distance can be also provided to meet your needs. It also can be used as hand held for observation in the night. MH-NVGs adopts Gen2+ or Gen3 image intensifier tube with the function of anti-glare and built-in IR Illuminator, it is mainly used for military observation , sea defence, frontier reconnaissance, surveillance, suppress smuggling, drug smuggling investigation and vehicles and aircraft maintenance under dark condition etc.
And So how does it work?
Night vision goggles work on the premise of amplifying the infrared light and other faint visible light around your target to electronically produce a clear usable image. We definitely want to be clear that some semblance of visible light must be present in order for night vision technology to actually work. But this can be moonlight, starlight, or other distantly produced light. There are only a few situations where you’ll have zero visible light to work with.
So, when a night vision device actually captures this faint and infrared light, it is directed to a photocathode. The photocathode is a very important part of the night vision assembly. It collects and converts the photons (light packets) into usable electrons.
After the electrons are created, they next head to the image intensifier tube — or IIT, a type of photo-multiplier. The IIT is what actually accelerates, amplifies, and converts the signal emitted from the electrons back into a usable image that you can see through the eyepiece. This technology also covers many of our other night vision products.
